Affiliate Marketing – How I Get Free Traffic To My Websites

So, you have finally become an affiliate marketer.  You have set up your first website or blog, and you are waiting for people to buy what you are offering so you can get those commissions in your account.   But you need traffic.   And without traffic, you will not get anywhere.  It doesn’t just happen.  You need to help it along, and there are various ways to do that.  Here are some tips and tricks to start the traffic flowing. 

When I first started, I didn’t know anything about generating traffic.  I just sat back and waited for it to magically start flowing.  After all, I bought a ‘system’ that didn’t mention anything about it.  I had my website all set up by the experts, I had products on it that I was convinced people would be buying, and I would be getting rich!    Sound familiar?  When I realized the problem, I started researching, and employing every possible method I could to start the traffic flowing.  I even paid for advertising, PPC and everything that I could find.  Fortunately, those days are over and I now enjoy hundreds o visitors to my various websites, and over 97% o it is free traffic.  Now I am going to share with you the best ways to get traffic to your website/blog for free.  

SEO  -  Select relevant keywords for your blog/site and the products you are promoting.  One of the most important things I found is that you should focus your whole blog or site on one niche, not multiple niches.  This way all your articles/posts will keep the keywords you select ‘alive’ and current on your site.

Use Google Analytics  -  This will help you monitor where your traffic is coming from, and hep you identify what is working, and what is not working.  When you find something that works, do it again.

Article Marketing  -  This is one thing that I can not say enough about…..writing and submitting a few articles on a regular basis.  It does pay off!  Many people overlook this.   I have found that by adding 2 or 3 new (original) articles a week that offer good content (they don’t even need to promote a product!) helps keep targetted traffic coming into my sites/blogs.  Do not brush this off…it does work.  Write a few articles, and submit them to free article directories….you will be surprised at how well this works.  The better the content (something that is useful or the reader) the more the article will get shared, and the more traffic you will receive to your site/blog. 

Blogging  -  Do you have a separate blog somewhere in addition to your site?  Make a reference to your main site in your blog.  Visit other blogs with similar subjects as your main site, and add a comment to the blog about their content.  Make sure your main site address is in your signature block.  You will be surprised at how well this works.   You can also find forums on your main site subject and do the same thing.  The more you get your signature out on the net with your main site address, the more traffic you will start to see to your site.

One o the most effective ways to get free traffic is by creating a marketing plan for your affiliate marketing site, and then stick to it.  If you decide to write 2 articles a week, then do it.  If you want to write a blog post or two or three, then do it.  I you want to post in forums, send an email with your signature and site address each week, then do it.  Stick to it.  The more you write, post, email and comment, the more traffic you will get to your site.   It does not happen overnight (most of the time).  You will be surprised at how much free traffic you can really get with just a little, regular effort on your part.  ——
